Overview & Highlights

Nestled within the quaint setting of The Stable on Wadham Street, Rowan Tree Tea Room offers a charming retreat for tea enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. This delightful tea house invites you to savor an array of lovingly crafted sandwiches and warming beverages in an atmosphere that feels both cozy and refreshingly quirky.

The menu is a celebration of simple, classic flavors elevated to satisfying standards. Imagine biting into a perfectly balanced Egg and Mayonnaise sandwich, where creamy eggs meet just the right hint of seasoning, or a hearty Cheddar Cheese and Ham pairing that comforts and delights. For those craving something a touch more indulgent, the Cheddar Cheese and Bacon Toastie tantalizes with its melted richness and smoky undertones.

Rowan Tree Tea Room is also a haven for coffee aficionados. From the robust intensity of an Americano to the silky smoothness of a Café Latte or the decadent warmth of a Mocha, every cup is crafted to complement the homemade fare perfectly. For a soothing end to your visit, the Hot Chocolate promises a velvety richness that feels like a gentle embrace.

Stepping inside, you’ll find a thoughtfully curated space where comfort meets character. As Jane Fort aptly describes, the venue boasts a "quirky setting with lots of interesting things around to look at and comfortable seating"—an environment that feels personal and welcoming, ideal for lingering over an afternoon tea experience. The attention to detail is evident; tables are set with care, and the use of real leaf tea rather than teabags speaks volumes about their commitment to quality.

The warmth of the service matches the warmth of the tea, with attentive and friendly staff who make you feel right at home. Customer James Newton captures this perfectly, appreciating the "simple tea room with attentive service and good produce." Meanwhile, the venue also benefits from a delightful ambiance that extends beyond the indoors. Kate Thomas describes it as "a delightful place" and "an afternoon suntrap," making it an ideal spot to unwind, especially on brighter days.

For those who seek a little more than just tea, Rowan Tree Tea Room’s surroundings enrich the visit. From watching peregrine falcons in flight to possibly spotting the resident semi-tame fox named Sam, the setting offers a unique harmony between nature and nurture. David Howe’s review paints a vivid picture of a place where you can “sit out in the sunshine and watch peregrine falcons and other birds flying around,” blending a serene wildlife experience with culinary comfort.

Whether you’re stopping by for a light lunch, an indulgent afternoon tea, or simply to enjoy a robust coffee in a welcoming environment, Rowan Tree Tea Room delivers with authenticity and charm. Its thoughtful menu, cozy atmosphere, and the genuine warmth of its staff combine to create a little sanctuary in Weston-super-Mare that beckons you to slow down and savor the moment.

À nice simple tea room with attentative service and good produce

Second visit to the quarry. Lovely relaxing place to soak up nature and enjoy refreshments from café.. (lots of choice from vegan to home made cakes, coffee to soft drinks, friendly staff, reasonably priced and plenty of seating) there is also a gift shop and art gallery where you can purchase lovely unique gifts, sculptures, paintings and even plants for your garden. Tip: Take a camera and binoculars to enjoy the experience.

Now moved out of the Quarry and into The Stables in town Lovely afternoon tea in Rowan Tree Tea Room in the Stables yesterday, on special offer at £10.00 per person It’s a attractive, quirky setting with lots of interesting things around to look at and comfortable seating Our table was set out ready for us when we arrived, very pretty The tea was real leaf tea, not a tea bag in sight The sandwiches were egg, ham and brie and cranberry And there were biscuits, scones with clotted cream and jam, chocolate cake and lemon drizzle cake It was all delicious and plenty of it, we had to take some of ours home!

Fantastic place to go on a sunny day to sit out in the sunshine and watch peregrine falcons and other birds flying around and you may even see their Fox. disabled toilet Good Food and a nice place to socially visit

Great venue, great food, with friendly and pleasant staff, we always enjoy coming here, well recommended.

What a delightful place! Delicious home made fare, friendly service, and an afternoon suntrap. All rather magical actually.

I recently visited Rowan Tree Tea Room at The Stable on Wadham Street in Weston-super-Mare for an afternoon tea, and it was absolutely lovely! The atmosphere is warm, cosy, and welcoming — the perfect spot to relax and enjoy some homemade treats. The afternoon tea was fantastic value at just £12.50 per person. There was a great selection of fresh sandwiches, tasty scones, and homemade cakes, all beautifully presented. Of course, I had to join in on the classic debate — jam first or cream first? (I tried both, but I’m still team cream first! ) The staff were friendly, helpful, and really made the experience feel special. You can tell everything is made with care and attention to detail. If you’re looking for one of the best afternoon teas in Weston-super-Mare, I’d definitely recommend Rowan Tree Tea Room. A real hidden gem — perfect for a catch-up with friends or a relaxing treat!

What a find! Really beautiful spot hidden in an old quarry, in the heart of a nature reserve - home made cakes - art exhibits - on site parking - even a semi tame fox called Sam So glad we were too late to visit Dr fox's so tried this gem instead.
